The ABRomics development team gathers for a hackathon week
From April 7th to 11th, the ABRomics development team met in Nantes for a week-long hackathon aimed at advancing key components of the platform. From workflow improvements to FAIR metadata integration, the event promised significant technical progress and the implementation of new features in anticipation of the next major update.
Hosted by the Bird Platform team in Nantes, the hackathon brought together ABRomics developers from Paris, Clermont-Ferrand, and Roscoff for an intensive coding sprint. Highlights of the week included:
- Preparing the coreprofiler tool for cgMLST integration
- Preparation for integrating assembled data quality control using the CheckM2 tool
- Update of the platform’s notification system
- Update of the ABRomics knowledge graph
- Development of the ABRomics alert page for saved database filtering queries from users
- Implementation of a system for sending emails to all users directly from the interface
- Component for selecting FAIR metadata on ABRomics
- Addition of nodes to the graph when a sample is uploaded
- Discussion on the database structure to execute metagenomic workflows and store their results
- – First implementation step, updating the database and fixing the frontend and backend (in progress)
- Discussion on metagenomic metadata and their integration into the ABRomics platform
- Development of missing tools for administrative metagenomic workflows
- Implementation of queries based on already defined competency questions on the platform
- Exploration of a chat feature for ABRomics
Those progress constitute a stepping stones for major updates and new functionalities, to discover in the next versions of the platform.
