ABRomics at JOBIM and GCC 2024 !

ABRomics at the Journées Ouvertes en Biologie, Informatique et Mathématiques (JOBIM 2024) and the Galaxy Community Conference (GCC 2024)

Funded as part of the Priority Research Program (PPR) for Antibiotic Resistance, the ABRomics project aims to develop a digital platform to collect, analyze, organize and make accessible (meta)genomic data on bacterial infectious diseases and their metadata for research and surveillance of antibiotic resistance. The ongoing actions and developments of the ABRomics consortium is regularly presented at major international, European and national events.

From June 25 to 28, the Journées Ouvertes en Biologie, Informatique et Mathématiques (JOBIM) were held in Toulouse. It aims at presenting scientific and technical advances in bioinformatics together with new services (softwares and pipelines, databases) developed to address the needs of the life sciences and health communities. Most of the ABRomics developers took part in the poster session to present the functionalities of the beta version  of the plateforme that will open by the end of the summer. One of them, Julie Lao, gave a flash talk on the content of the ABRomics poster “The ABRomics platform — a One Health Antimicrobial resistance analysis service”.

In parallel, the Galaxy Community Conference (GCC) which focuses on the use and development of the Galaxy platform for data-intensive biomedical research, was held in Brno, Czech Republic, from June 24 to 29. Two IFB research engineers took part in the poster session and Bérénice Batut gave a presentation on the workflows component of ABRomics being developed using the Galaxy platform: “ABRomics: a Galaxy-based One Health Antimicrobial Resistance Platform”.
